Geometric Approach to Linear Programming Homework

Homework 19, Section 5-3: Applications 31, 33, 34, 36 and

Add a part (D) to application 31: Discuss the effect on the production schedule and the maximum profit if the profit on a slalom ski remains at $30 but the profit on a trick ski increases to $45.

The wording of number 36 was poorly chosen. The author's intent was to say that the van can now carry only 7 students (plus, by implication, one chaperone). Unfortunately, the problem states that the van can only carry 7 people which would imply it can carry only 6 students plus a chaperone. Work this problem as the author intended by assuming that each van can transport 7 students (plus the needed chaperone).
